Just six weeks after flipping 1170 KJOC Davenport, IA from Oldies to ESPN Radio, Townsquare Media is giving the station an FM simulcast.
Hot AC “Star 93.5” KQCS Bettendorf, IA will drop its format and flip to a simulcast of KJOC as “ESPN 93.5FM“. KQCS registered a 1.5 share in the Fall 2013 Nielsen Audio ratings.
For the first time in the Quad Cities market FM radio will have a 24-hour sports station. The worldwide leader in sports ESPN begins airing on Townsquare Media’s 93.5 FM signal as of Monday morning June 16th with the popular “Mike & Mike Morning Show”. ESPN SportsCenter anchor Mike Greenberg and former Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Mike Golic form the backbone of the nation’s hottest sports radio show in the morning. Playing off their different personalities, Mike and Mike get the morning started right with discussions on the topical sports issues, interviews with the prominent sports personalities who are in the news and interaction with listeners. It’s a fun, fast-paced morning drive show to get the avid sports fan ready for the day. Following Mike & Mike ESPN 93-5 FM will feature the whole ESPN line-up throughout the rest of the day include hourly “Sports Center Updates”
“We are excited to bring sports radio to the FM dial in the QC”, according to General Manager Bruce Law. “We know from our local research that sports fans are asking for more choices to get sports programming and we are proud to bring it to them!”
In addition to ESPN programming, ESPN 93-5 FM will broadcast a newly developed High School Football and Boys Basketball line-up with a partnership formed with QC Sportsnet.com which will include live on-air and on-line most winning High School programs.

According to an article in the Quad City Times, 1170AM will get a new format in the fall.
