Miller Communications is planning a complete restructuring of its Taylorville, IL area stations on Friday, August 1. The moves will see the company launch a new frequency in its cluster while another moves to a new frequency.
News/Talk 97.3 WTIM-FM Taylorville will relocate to the former 870 WINU Shelbyville and 96.3 W242BZ Taylorville. Miller subsidiary Kaskaskia Broadcasting acquired the currently silent 870 earlier this year from New Life Envangelical Center for $175,000. The station has repeatedly changed call letters from WINU to WTLY to WSVZ to now WTIM since May.
The Classic Hits formats of “Groovy 93.5” W228BH Taylorville and “Solid Gold 98.3” WRAN Tower Hill will merge onto 97.3 as “Groovy 97.3” WRAN Taylorville.
The 93.5 translator will relocate to 104.1 and acquire the “New Country” format from 96.3 W242BZ.
98.3 will launch a second “New Country” brand as WSVZ serving Shelbyville and Effingham.
Unaffected by the changes are “Genuine Country 94.3” WMKR Pana and Christian AC “107.5 Shine-FM” W298BM Taylorville, which launched on June 1.
