Update 11/24: The sale price has been filed with the FCC revealing One Putt will pay $6.6 million for KFRR, KJFX, and KJZN.
Original Report 11/12: Wilks Broadcasting has sold its three stations in Fresno to One Putt Broadcasting for an undisclosed price.
One Putt, a partnership of John Ostlund’s JSA Broadcasting and Chris Pacheco’s Fat Dawgs LLC will add Wilks’ three FMs to their existing four stations in the Fresno market. Joining the group are Classic Rock “95.7 The Fox” KJFX Fresno, Alternative “New Rock 104.1” KFRR Woodlake, and Sports “105.5 The Game” KJZN San Joaquin. They will join One Putt Broadcasting’s existing cluster of AC “99.3 Jewel-FM” KJWL, Sports “790 The Deuce” KFPT, Sports “ESPN 940” KFIG, and Oldies 1430 KYNO.
One Putt will begin operating the stations via LMA ahead of the sale closing.
One Putt partner John Ostlund said, “Classic Rock 95.7 and New Rock 104.1 are legendary brands and highly rated radio stations. 105.5 FM is pure opportunity that we intend to have serious fun with.”
Partner Chris Pacheco added, “After securing the broadcast rights for Fresno State Athletics and moving ESPN to 50,000-watt 940 AM, buying Wilks was among our highest priorities. These additional FM’s will allow us to serve the Valley like never before.”
Wilks CEO Jeff Wilks commented, “I’ve known Chris and John for many years and feel confident in their ability to build on the tradition of community service these great radio stations have.”
