Radio-One is proposing to move Classic Hip-Hop “Boom 102.9” W275BK Decatur, GA out of Atlanta to Fayetteville, GA with 250 watts at 168 meters rebroadcasting 97.5 WUMJ Fayetteville (Coverage Map). Is this the precursor to further moves or just an attempt to block out someone else’s move for three years?
Family Radio’s 100.3 W262AE West Palm Beach has filed a displacement application to 104.7 with no change to its 250 watt at 31 meter signal (Coverage Map). W262AE has been off the air since the sign-on of 100.3 WLML-FM Lake Park.
As it completes its upgrade from 13 to 27 watts, Rahul Walia’s 104.7 W284BW Franklin Township, NJ seeks another upgrade to 64 watts at 138 meters (Coverage Map). The translator will continue to rebroadcast Indian “Radio Zindagi” via 97.1 WQHT-HD2 New York.
Radio Training Network’s 91.9 W220CN Charleston, SC files a displacement application to 94.7 due to a pending CP of 91.9 WWOS St. George to increase power. On 94.7, W220CN will operate with 250 watts at 173 meters rebroadcasting 100.5 WALC-HD3 (Coverage Map).
Central Florida Educational Foundation applies to move their CP for 93.3 W227CP Orlando to Sanford, FL with 250 watts at 120 meters rebroadcasting an HD subchannel of their 88.3 WPOZ Union Park (Coverage Map).
Edgewater Broadcasting’s CP for 100.3 W262CM Buffalo, NY applies to relocate to a new tower location with 80 watts at 41 meters (Coverage Map). It will rebroadcast Family Life Ministries’ 88.3 WCOU Attica, NY.
Family Life’s 94.7 W234AZ Brighton/Rochester, NY seeks to increase tower height from 119.6 to 143 meters while remaining at 250 watts (Coverage Map). The translator rebroadcasts Family Life’s Christian programming via Entercom’s 98.9 WBZA-HD3.
Mountain Community Translators has applied to relocate 107.3 K297AK Loveland, CO to a new location with greater coverage of Fort Collins. The translator, which was recently programmed by iHeartMedia as Christmas “Santa 107.3“, seeks to operate with 250 watts at 376 meters (Coverage Map) rebroadcasting KXBG-HD2 Cheyenne, WY.
Timothy Cutforth’s 106.7 K294CH Divide/Colorado Springs applies to move to 107.3 in Fountain with 250 watts at -86 meters rebroadcasting 1530 KCMN Colorado Springs (Coverage Map).
Educational Media Foundation’s 103.7 W279CU Tallahassee, FL seeks to downgrade from 250 to 100 watts while remaining at 133 meters (Coverage Map). The translator will rebroadcast EMF’s 91.9 WKVH Monticello.
EMF also applies to modify 93.3 K227BI Santa Barbara, CA to 30 watts at 339 meters rebroadcasting 97.5 KYGA Goleta (Coverage Map).
Virginia Tech Foundation applies to relocate 94.9 W235BT Fredericksburg, VA closer to the city. W235BT seeks to operate with 80 watts at 18 meters rebroadcasting 88.3 WQIQ Spotsylvania (Coverage Map).
Station Moves
JLD Media’s pending purchase of Regional Mexican “La Grand D” 101.9 KDBI Emmett/Boise, ID from Adelante Media seeks to increase height on its existing tower with a change from 57kW at 772 meters to 52kW at 803 meters (Coverage Map).
With its current CP expiring, Connoisseur Media’s “Rocket 101” 100.9 WRKT North East/Erie, PA has reapplied to complete its move to 104.9 with the same 4.5kW at 160.5 facilities from the previous CP (Coverage Map).
Three other stations with their original CP’s about to expire have applied for lesser facilities in order to gain their license on time. Super Waves, LLC’s 94.1 WLZT Worthington, IN applies for 100 watts at 2 meters (Coverage Map) to beat its December 19 deadline. Panther Communication’s 94.5 KSTD Stamford, TX seeks 100 watts at 32 meters to get on the air before its December 15 expiration of its CP (Coverage Map). The next day is the deadline for Panther’s 105.7 KECL Cotulla, TX which applies for 2.7kW at 29 meters (Coverage Map).
The Worship Center of Kingsville’s silent 89.1 KBTD Freer, TX applies to operate with 490 watts at 90 meters (Coverage Map).
New Stations
Red Wolf Broadcasting is seeking to have two new commercial allocations added to the East End of Long Island, NY. 94.5 would be licensed to Sagaponack and 103.3 to Shelter Island. Red Wolf seeks to have both stations operate from the tower of 92.1 WLNG Sag Harbor with 5.6kW for 94.5 and 5.3kW for 103.3 with both at 103 meters. Should the applications be approved the frequencies will be placed in a future FCC auction.
