Beasley has completed the transition of 1010 WHFS Seffner/Tampa from Sports to Business Talk as “MoneyTalk 1010. Charlie Ochs, the former VP/Market Manager for CBS Radio Tampa prior to exiting the radio industry in 2008 returns as General Manager of the station.
Beasley Media Group Tampa Bay announces MoneyTalk 1010 AM, the Tampa Bay area’s only exclusively financial talk formatted radio station. MoneyTalk 1010 serves both the local community and listeners across the Country (streaming the content at www.moneytalk1010.com) with programming that features valuable and timely information on the financial markets and emerging trends in the economy. Additionally, MoneyTalk 1010 offers an assortment of health, lifestyle, and general information programs delivered by a wide variety of local and national broadcasters. Market veteran Charlie Ochs is the General Manager of MoneyTalk 1010.
Most recently, Mr. Ochs served as a financial professional for Prudential Financial in Tampa. Prior to that, Ochs was a senior executive in the broadcasting industry, including serving as Senior Vice President and Market Manager with CBS Radio. Ochs’ radio career included cities such as Indianapolis, Phoenix, and Houston. He managed clusters of radio stations in San Diego, Washington D.C., and most recently the six CBS Radio stations in the Tampa Bay Area from 2000 through 2008.
MoneyTalk 1010 will feature news updates, timely weather forecasts and traffic reports to keep listeners engaged and informed. Original Report 12/31: Beasley Broadcasting continues to remake its Tampa cluster as its drops CBS Sports Radio programming on 1010 WHFS Seffner.
WHFS is now simulcasting the Business Talk programming originating at sister 740 WSBR Boca Raton/Miami. With the end of the CBS Sports programming, Genesis Communication Sports “1040 The Team” WHBO Pinellas Park has announced that the syndicated Jim Rome Show will move to their station starting Monday, January 5.
Meanwhile at Beasley Classic Hits “Q105” 104.7 WRBQ, Program Director/Afternoon host Scott Walker has exited.
The webstream is still carrying CBS Sports Radio as of this moment (12/31/2014 8:48 pm ET).
OMG. If Beasley screws up Q105, I’m gonna lose my mind. Of course, I don’t know why I’d expect them to NOT screw it up.
