One Putt Broadcasting has launched a name the station social media campaign for the new Classic Hip-Hop format.
Original Report 3/4 8:45am: One Putt Broadcasting will pull the plug on Sports “105.5 The Game” KJZN San Joaquin/Fresno at 6:00am on Thursday, March 5.
The Fresno Bee reports that One Putt will flip KJZN to Classic Hip-Hop at 6am on Thursday. While new branding has not been announced, the Bee reports they were originally going to call it “Bling 105.5“, but decided to take more time to find the right name. The new format will position KJZN against iHeartMedia’s combo of market leading Rhythmic CHR “B95” KBOS and Rhythmic AC “103.7 The Beat” KFBT as well as Lotus Rhythmic CHR “Q97.1” KSEQ and Cumulus Rhythmic Oldies “Mega 97.9” KMGV.
KJZN and sisters Classic Rock “95.7 The Fox” KJFX and Alternative “New Rock 104.1” KFRR were purchased by One Putt from Wilks Broadcasting in November for $6.6 million. The end of the Sports format on 105.5 takes away a competitor to One Putt’s “940 ESPN” KFIG and “790 The Deuce” KFPT.
