Hubbard Classic Rock 100.7 KSLX Phoenix is launching a new morning show on Monday, March 16 with former 93.3 KDKB alums Mark Devine and Paul ‘Neanderpaul’ Marshall.
Devine, who was one half of the longtime “Tim & Mark” morning show on KDKB from 1989 until 2005, most recently was at defunct Bonneville Variety Hits “98.7 The Peak” KPXK. Marshall was PD/Afternoon host at KDKB until its flip to Alternative in September 2014 and then moved to KSLX as night host.
The pair replace Mark Mayfield in KSLX’s morning slot.
Classic Rock radio station KSLX-FM (100.7 KSLX) brings a high-octane morning show to Phoenix with Mark Devine and Paul “NeanderPaul” Marshall, two local powerhouse veterans. Mark Devine spent 15 years as half of the top ranked Tim and Mark Morning Show at KDKB. NeanderPaul (the IRS thinks he’s Paul Marshall) came to KSLX in 2014 after hosting PM Drive at KDKB and has been a market leading entertainer on the Rock Zone weekday nights at KSLX.
Program Director Jim Owen, says, “Building a morning show from scratch is one of the truly exciting projects in radio. The potential for morning show success is great in the Phoenix market and Hubbard Radio has a strong commitment to developing talent.
Mark Devine anxiously anticipates his return to Classic Rock and commented, “This is the music I grew up with so it’s going to be a great fit. I’m excited to be at KSLX.”
“I just want to apologize to everyone for everything about to transpire…you can’t say you weren’t warned” adds Marshall.
Owen added, “I want to thank Hubbard President, Drew Horowitz, VP-Programming, Greg Solk, and Market Manager, Trip Reeb for their help in putting this show together and support for Air Talent as a critical element of successful radio.”
This new partnership will strive for Olympic levels of entertainment, insight and humor while staying true to the Classic Rock attitude of KSLX. Mark and Neanderpaul start rockin’ your morning commute on Monday, March 16th at 5:30am.
A tip of the fez to Mother Hubbard for actually doing something with the former Gumpdusky stations! They’re putting talent, equipment and money into the stations and the results are showing. From what catfish (lower case “c”) tells Los Buckeye Boyz, the under construction MotherPlex at 52nd & Van Buren will blow our fees off! ’bout time all stations were all under one roof.
