WROZ completed its relaunch as “Fun 101.3” at noon today.
Launching with Cyndi Lauper’s Girls Just Want To Have Fun, the newly rebranded station is positioning itself simply as “More Music”. With the change current morning co-host Bryan Jordan is relocating to sister “Roxy 100.9” WKNL New London, CT for afternoons. Dennis Mitchell and Michelle Cruz will remain in mornings at WROZ.
Update 5/13: WROZ will relaunch as “Fun 101.3” on Thursday, May 14 at 12:00pm.

Original Report 4/28: Yet another heritage AC station appears ready to remove its longtime branding in a quest for younger demographics.
Hall Communications has registered Fun1013.com for AC “101 The Rose” WROZ Lancaster, PA. WROZ has utilized the “Rose” brand since shifting from Beautiful Music WNCE in 1992. In the Fall 2014 Nielsen Audio ratings WROZ was fourth in the Lancaster market with a 4.8 share, down sharply from the inverse 8.4 it held a year prior.
This is a rebranding that should have happened long ago in my opinion. The “Rose” branding despite the local connotation makes one think of the Bette Midler song by that name and other soft love songs, which is far from the Hot(ish) AC the station is now playing Flo Rida and Iggy Azalea.
I couldn’t agree more
Could WROZ-101.3 go CHR/Top-40??
In New Bedford, Massachusetts, WFHN-107.1 (although it’s owned by Townsquare Media and not by WROZ owner Hall Communications), a CHR outlet, brands itself as “Fun 107”.
Judging from the monicker they picked it sounds like adult Top 40 or Top 40/CHR will be the next format for the station.
