Greater Media Classic Hits 105.7 WROR Framingham/Boston shuffled its on-air lineup today.
Julie Devereaux moves from afternoons to middays, taking the 10am to 2pm slot that had previously been held by the “Employee of the Day” with a listener voicetracking the slot. Devereaux has been with WROR since 2000 and is returning to a midday slot she filled from 2002 until 2008. Before joining WROR she previously worked at 92.9 WBOS and 93.7 WCGY.
Her move will open up afternoons for Jaybeau Jones, who moves from weekends to the 2-7pm slot. Jones, previously programmed CBS Hot AC “Mix 98.5” WBMX and Classic Hits 103.3 WODS in the market along with long runs programming in Chicago, Hartford, and Worcester.
Loren & Wally, who have hosted mornings on WROR since its launch in 1996, remain in place. WROR is jockless in evenings and overnights. WROR has established itself as the dominant station in Boston in recent months as its 7.7 share gives it a 1.7 point lead over the #2 station in the market.
Greater Media announces veteran on-air personality Julie Devereaux will be taking over the midday slot from 10a-2pm on WROR-FM in Boston. This position was most recently voiced by the WROR Employee of the Day via a pre-recorded listener. She will host the show live from 10am to 2pm and welcome listeners to pick and introduce their favorite songs during the noon hour.
In addition, Jaybeau Jones will move from part-time to full-time afternoons from 2pm-7pm, including overseeing the Commercial-Free Drive Home at 4:15pm weekdays. The 30 year broadcasting veteran’s resume includes programming and on air experience on SIRIUS XM “70s on 7”. He’s also worked in Chicago, Philadelphia, Hartford, and Worcester. In addition, he served as a past program director at WBMX-FM and the former WODS-FM in Boston.
Julie’s upbeat, friendly style is the perfect fit for listening to the radio at work. Jaybeau brings just the right amount of humor, topicality, and fun to the drive home!
“We’re proud to be increasing the number of hours we showcase live and local talent,” said WROR-FM Program Director Ken West. “Led by Loren & Wally in the morning, we look forward to Julie and Jaybeau making WROR’s At Work presence more personal while providing more companionship and fun along with Boston’s Greatest Hits.”
“Rob Williams, Cadillac Jack and Ken West are outstanding broadcast professionals,” said Jones. “I’m honored and humbled to be on their team. Everyone knows what a great company Greater Media is. I’m thrilled beyond words.”
