Bluff City Media is in the process of launching three new signals in Pine Bluff, AR.
The company, owned by Paul Coates and former Arkansas Governor/Republican presidential candidate/syndicated talk show host Mike Huckabee, purchased One Media’s three construction permits in the market earlier this year for $40,000 and a 20% stake in the company.
The first station launched was News/Talk 99.3 KHUC in April. That was followed last week by Urban “101.3 The Beat” KPBA. A third station 98.1 KTPB received its station license last week and will feature a Classic Country format when it fully launches. A fourth station, Hot AC “104.5 The Train” KTRN was acquired from William Wachter’s My Town Media concurrently with the three CP acquisitions.
The West Pine Bluff Rotary Club reports that Gordon Heiges has been named General Manager of the stations.
So GOP Presidential candidate Mike Huckabee, is part owner of a Hip Hop station. Well isn’t that somethin’.
Sounds like Huckabee has a back up plan just in case his campaign fails.
