Longtime St. Louis sports columnist Bernie Miklasz is departing his position at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and rejoining Hubbard Sports “101 ESPN” 101.1 WXOS East St. Louis for mornings.
Miklasz, who hosted a midday show at WXOS until 2013, will give the station a local morning show for the first time as he takes over the 7-10am slot on the station. ESPN Radio’s Mike & Mike will be cut back to 5-7am, while the rest of the local shows on the station move back an hour. Kevin Wheeler will air from 10am to 1pm, “The Turn” with Chris Duncan and Andrew Stalter from 1-3pm, and “The Fast Lane” with Randy Karraker, DeMarco Farr, and Brad Thompson 3-7pm. National ESPN Radio programming will continue from 7pm to 7am weekdays.
Miklasz will also write for WXOS’ 101Sports.com once he rejoins the station in late August. He spent over 30 years at the Post-Dispatch starting as a beat reporter for the NFL’s St. Louis Cardinals in 1985.
