1440 KEYS will debut its new Talk format on Friday, August 28.
The new lineup will include the return of Bob Jones to the station for mornings. Jones previously worked at KEYS during its previous Talk run until exiting in 2009. The local Sports talk show “The Benchwarmers” will remain with the station with the rest of the lineup featuring syndicated talkers First Light with Evan Haning, Laura Ingraham, Dave Ramsey, Michael Savage, Alex Jones, and Red Eye Radio.
Meanwhile, Tejas Broadcasting will make the flip of Spanish AC “Exitos 105.5” KLHB Portland to Sports “105.5 ESPN” on Tuesday, September 1.
Original Report 8/21: Malkan Interactive Communications Sports “1440 ESPN” KEYS Corpus Christi has begun stunting with a loop teasing a potential flip to News/Talk.
Starting with a siren the loop states:
People of Corpus Christi, South Texas, and the entire nation, we now live in a different world. It’s a world where terrorist organizations have no regard for human life. A country where illegal immigration runs rampant, a rising national debt in excess of 18 trillion dollars, a changing social climate, race relations at an all time low, even an outdated tax system in desperate need of reform. We have list of men and women who believe they can fix all our problems as the next President of the United States. It’s time we speak up. It’s time your opinion is heard. Soon. Very soon you will have that opportunity. Stay tuned.
As we reported in yesterday’s Daily Domains report, crosstown Tejas Broadcasting registered 1055ESPN.com for what is now Spanish AC “Exitos 105.5” KLHB Portland. KEYS picked up the Sports format on September 1, 2011 which would make that date a likely time the current contract would expire. Prior to flipping to Sports, KEYS had a News/Talk format.
