Saga Communications has announced it has acquired Classic Rock “QFM 96” 96.3 WLVQ Columbus OH from Wilks Broadcast Group for $13 million.
WLVQ will become Saga’s fifth station in the Columbus market joining AC “Sunny 95” 94.7 WSNY, Classic Hits simulcast “Rewind” 103.5 WNND/104.3 WNNP, and Hot AC “Mix 107.9” WVMX. Wilks also currently owns Sports “95.5 The Game” WZOH and Classic Country “K107.1” WHOK in the Columbus market as it continues the sell-off of its broadcast assets.
Saga Communications, Inc. (NYSE MKT – SGA) announced today that it has entered into an agreement to purchase the assets of WLVQ-FM from Wilks Broadcast – Columbus LLC. The station serves the Columbus, OH radio market where Saga already owns and operates Sunny95, Mix 107.9 and Rewind 103.5/104.3. Saga expects to close the transaction, subject to the approval of the Federal Communications Commission, during the first quarter of 2016.
