Delmarva Broadcasting is preparing to exit the Salisbury/Ocean City MD market.
Delmarva has begun by selling Country “Cat Country 97.5” WKTT and Conservative Talk 1320 WICO Salisbury to Rothschild Broadcasting for $300,000. The buyer is led by Robin Rothschild who previously owned 100.7 WVAY Wilmington VT and currently hosts a weekly magazine show for Salisbury market NBC affiliate WRDE-TV. A second sale of WICO’s simulcast partner 92.5 WICO-FM Pocomoke City is mentioned in the first contract but not yet filed. DCRTV.com reports that WICO-FM will go to Greg Bojko’s GSB Broadcasting for an undisclosed amount. GSB Broadcasting owns Variety Hits 96.5 WCTG Chincoteague VA.
Delmarva will continue to own Classic Hits “97.1 The Wave” WAVD Ocean Pines MD for now and their nine other stations serving the Wilmington, Dover/Milford DE, and Havre de Grace MD markets.
CTG is a great station. Maybe they can bring some of that to the new station.
