Station Sales
Davidson Media continues its sell-off as 990 WLEE Richmond VA is sold to General Manager Jim Jacobs’ Richmond Radio LLC for $10,000. Concurrent with the sale, Jacobs replaced the Conservative Talk programming of WLEE with the Gospel format heard on 1540 WREJ as that station goes Silent.
Following Leslie Rudd’s purchase of News/Talk 1360 WCHL/97.9 W250BP Chapel Hill NC out of bankruptcy, four partners are joining the newly renamed Chapel Hill Media Group as equal 20% owners. Chris Ehrenfeld, James Kitchen, Mark Vitali and Aaron Wright will each pay $150,000 for their stakes in the company.
After divesting the license to Classic Hits “Sunny 102.1” WZUN Phoenix/Syracuse NY in 2013 in a corporate restructuring, Galaxy Communications is reacquiring the station from ACM Redstone Capital’s WZUN Communications for $1 million. Galaxy needed to change 106.5 WKRH Minetto’s city-of-license to Fair Haven in order to have it not count against the company’s ownership limits in the Syracuse market in order to bring WZUN back.
Five Forty Broadcasting Company is purchasing Classic Country 1590 WBHN Bryson City NC from Lighthouse Broadcasting for $10. The buyer, who owns Full Service AC 540 WRGC Sylva NC, has begun operating WBHN via LMA.
Jazz Birds is donating Jazz 90.5 KJZC Chadron NE to Chadron State College.

Translator Sales
Henry County Radio acquires the CP for 106.5 W293CO Tallahassee FL from Edgewater Broadcasting for $40,000. The sale lists Florida A&M University’s 90.5 WANM as station to be rebroadcast, but as the buyer owns 1410 WKKP McDonough GA, we’d expect the long range goal is to move it via the 250 mile waiver process there.
101.7 W269CG Priceville AL is being donated by John A. Hain, Jr. to James Henderson. Henderson is a principle in Emmanuel Full Gospel Ministries, which owns 97.9 WQXD-LP Athens AL that will be rebroadcast by the translator.
Great Plains Media purchases the CP for 97.3 W247BN Madison KS for $10,000. This looks like another 250 mile waiver claim for eventual use with GPM’s News/Talk 1320 KLWN Lawrence KS.
Steckline Communications acquires 98.7 K254BI Eureka and 103.3 K277CI Hutchinson KS for $60,000. The buyer owns 6 AM’s in Kansas that could be used with the stations come the waiver period.
The Sister Sherry Lynn Foundation sells the CPs for 102.1 K271BY Duncan and 95.1 K236BP Chickasha OK to Screen Door Broadcating for $25,000 each. Both are currently licensed to rebroadcast the seller’s 90.7 KFXT Sulphur.
Media Institute For Social Change is selling 91.7 K219KU Nehalem OR to Cascade Educational Broadcast Service for an amount not disclosed in the sale filing. The buyer operates Common Frequency owned Liberal Talk/Indie Rock 91.1 KXRY-LP Portland.
