[membership level="2,3"]
FM Changes
While it hasn't been smooth sailing for station namesake Bubba The Love Sponge, Beasley Media is planning an upgrade for Rock "Bubba 98.7" WBRN-FM Holmes Beach/Tampa FL. Beasley has applied to move WBRN-FM to the auxiliary tower of 107.3 WXGL on the east side of Saint Petersburg with 47kW at 141 meters. An application is pending with the FAA to increase the height of the tower (Coverage Map). After its first application to shift 97.3 KIKO-FM Globe AZ to 96.5 was met with informal objections by Petracom of Holbrook's 96.5 KRFM Show Low, 1TV.com has reapplied for a modification of its application. The new version seeks to have KIKO-FM move to 96.5 with 40kW at 166 meters from a new tower site. To eliminate short-spacing, KRFM would be shifted to 106.9 while WSK Family Trust's 107.1 KNKI Pinetop would go to 98.5 via a show-cause order with no changes to their facilities. Hawaii Public Radio seeks modifications to two of their stations. 91.1 KANO Hilo and 91.7 KAHU Pahala hold CPs to operate with identical 12kW horizontal at 235.8 meters with frequency changes to 89.1 and 91.3 respectively. They both seek to modify that to 18kW at 219.8 meters (Coverage Map) from the same location.
AM Changes
New South Radio's 780 WIIN Ridgeland MS seeks to diplex on the tower of Sportsrad's 930 WSFZ and Alpha Media's "Gospel 1300" WOAD Jackson with 5kW daytime. Scott Fybush at Northeast Radio Watch has been tracking the exploits of Brian Dodge and his pseudonyms for nearly two decades. 560 WCKL Catskill NY was evicted by landlord Clear Channel in 2013 over unpaid rent but was granted a license renewal a year later despite not having a tower site due to "Tim Allen" replying to an FCC inquiry that the station was operating from its licensed site. Now the station has filed for an STA to operate with 250 watts daytime and 12 watts night from a site that is nothing but woods near the Hudson River. An application to sell the station to Ebony Media led by a "Bishop Tim Allen", but having the same e-mail address used by many of Dodge's pseudonyms was made in July, and has yet to be acted on by the agency.
Translator Changes
Meanwhile another holding company of Dodge/Tim Allen seeks to modify Harvest Translator's 94.3 W232AJ Greenville NH on the grounds that "FMT IS REBROADCASTING TO THE AREA THAT NEEDS THE GOSPEL!!!HAS IT HAS FOR NEARLY 30 YEARS". A pair of translators are seeking to move to 103.3 near Kenosha WI. Frank Glass McCoy's 92.5 W223CG Waukegan IL applies to move to 103.3 with 220 watts vertical at 30 meters rebroadcasting Gateway Technical College's Jazz 91.1 WGTD-HD2 Kenosha (Coverage Map). W263CK will rebroadcast an HD subchannel of Cumulus' 96.1 WSOX Red Lion. As we first suspected when Marconi Wireless of Colorado acquired 1550 KBUD Golden CO last month, 96.9 K245AD Arvada/Boulder applies to relocate to KBUD's tower with 99 watts at -33 meters (Coverage Map). Midwest Family Broadcasting's pending acquisition of the CP for 105.1 W286CK Eau Claire WI applies to move to the tower of 94.1 WIAL Eau Claire where it will operate with 250 watts at 96 meters rebroadcasting Midwest Family's News/Talk 790 WAYY Eau Claire (Coverage Map). Calvary Chapel of Twin Falls seeks to modify two of their Billings MT area translators. 90.5 K213DY Huntley applies to move to 98.9 in Billings with 50 watts vertical at 135 meters rebroadcasting Hi-Line Radio Fellowship's 90.5 KMTJ Columbus MT (Coverage Map). 91.3 K217EM Billings applies for identical facilities rebroadcasting 89.9 KAWZ Twin Falls ID (Coverage Map). EMF's 91.9 K220GC Minot ND seeks to increase antenna height from 64 to 93 meters while retaining its current tower location and 250 watts power rebroadcasting 89.3 KLOV Winchester OR (Coverage Map).
New Translator Grants
After its original application and an attempted move to 97.3 were dismissed due to interference claims, WYRS Broadcasting has been granted a CP for 107.9 W300CW Toms River NJ with a directional 27 watts at 75 meters rebroadcasting Christian 90.7 WYRS Manahawkin (Coverage Map).
Deletions
After failing to resume service by November 22, Mahola Multimedia's 620 KHNU Hilo HI has been deleted. KHNU lost its tower site and went silent in November 2014. An STA was applied for on November 20 that specified a 4 tower site outside of KHNU's current coverage area, but specifics were not included to allow the agency to properly study the application. Due to those erroneous factors the FCC has denied the STA request and considered KHNU's license expired and the call letters deleted.
Dismissals
A 2013 application by Renda Broadcasting to upgrade 94.1 WSOS-FM Fruit Cove/Jacksonville FL from a Class C3 to C2 has been dismissed upon the request of new owner Chesapeake-Portsmouth Broadcasting. The application would have required iHeartMedia's 94.1 WQBT and Cumulus' 95.5 WIXV Savannah GA to swap frequencies at Renda's expense. K95.5 Inc's "Okie Country 101.7" KTFX-FM Warner OK's application to increase its antenna height from 84 to 98 meters was dismissed over failure to prosecute. Bridgelight LLC's application to move 103.1 W276AQ Fort Lee NJ to 102.3 had its grant rescinded following a petition to deny by Cox Radio's 102.3 WBAB Babylon NY. W276AQ stated that it is receiving interference from the recent upgrade of 103.1 WBZO Bay Shore NY, which Cox says is not enough for a waiver for a major modification. It also believes the 102.3 facilities for W276AQ will actually cause interference to WBAB. [/membership]
