KNXR Sold Again; Back To Beautiful Music?

97.5 Pulse-FM KNXR Rochester John Linder Minnesota Valley Broadcasting HometownGreg Jensen’s Hometown Broadcasting of Rochester has sold Hot AC “97.5 Pulse-FM” KNXR Rochester MN to John Linder’s Blooming Prairie Farm Radio for $3.2 million.

Jensen acquired KNXR in October 2014 for $1.1 million and flipped it to its current Hot AC format this past February. Prior to the sale and format change KNXR was one of the last holdout in the Beautiful Music format.

Linder doesn’t own any other stations in Rochester, however KNXR will have coverage overlap with his “True Oldies 1170” KOWZ Waseca and AC 100.9 KOWZ-FM Blooming Prairie.

As we reported in our Premium Daily Domains report last week, Linder registered registered multiple KNXR related domains: 975KNXR.com, 975KNXRFM.com, KNXR97-5.com, KNXR975.com, and KNXRFM.com. With the emphasis on the call letters in those domains, is Linder looking to bring back the station’s heritage format?
