Program Director Kenny Jay is moving from CBS Country “Buz’n 102.9” KMNB Minneapolis to sister 94.1 KMPS Seattle.
Jay fills the hole vacant since Ed Hill exited in April 2015. He has been with CBS since 2012 as APD and later PD of KMNB and has previously programmed in Savannah, Madison, and La Crosse WI. Carey Curelop, the CBS Seattle VP of Programming who has been handling the day-to-day programming at KMPS since last April, will return to focusing on Classic Rock 102.5 KZOK.
Jay’s duties at KMNB will be absorbed by Operations Manager Lauren MacLeash.
Kenny Jay has been named Program Director for KMPS-FM, CBS RADIO’s country station in Seattle, it was announced today by Kevin McCarthy, Senior Vice President and Market Manager, CBS RADIO Seattle. The appointment is effective on Monday, Jan. 25.
Jay spent the past two years programming KMNB-FM, BUZ’N @102.9 for CBS RADIO in Minneapolis. He joined the station in 2012 as Assistant Program Director.
“We were looking for a bright, innovative thinker who is at ease working across the various platforms that today’s country listener engages with every day,” said McCarthy. “Kenny’s that guy.”
Prior to joining KMNB-FM, Jay was the Brand Manager for WUBB-FM (BOB 106.9) in Savannah, Georgia (2011-12). He also held several on-air and programming positions for Mid-West Family Broadcasting in Madison and La Crosse, where he won multiple Wisconsin Broadcasters Association awards.
