As expected Alpha Media flipped CHR “Y100” 100.1 WXYY Rincon/Savannah GA to Classic Hip-Hop “G100” at 5pm.
The new station will retain middayer Mia Amini and afternoon host Mark ‘Shark’ Ediss from the previous format. Morning hosts Stacy and Tim ‘TC’ Michaels exit.
WXYY ranked 16th in the Savannah market with a 1.4 share in the Fall 2015 Nielsen Audio ratings. That placed well behind iHeartMedia CHR “97.3 Kiss-FM” WAEV’s third ranked 6.6 share. A flip to Classic Hip-Hop will also attempt to take share points from the other top four ranked stations in the market: Cumulus’s top rated Urban “E93” 93.1 WEAS-FM and iHeart’s combo of Urban “94.1 The Beat” WQBT and Urban AC “Love 101.1” WLVH.

Original Report 9:15am: Alpha Media has dropped the CHR format on “Y100” 100.1 WXYY Rincon/Savannah GA.
The station is currently stunting with a loop of Dr. Dre/Snoop Dogg’s “Nothing But A G Thang” while running sweepers hyping an announcement of something new launching at 5:00 this afternoon. That will apparently lead to a flip to Classic Hip-Hop as “G100” matching the branding used by recently launched sister “G96.7” WGBL Biloxi. G100Savannah.com was registered this morning, while the stations Facebook address has been changed to G100Savannah and temporarily taken private.
