Update 7/3: The flip took place as announced following an audio simulcast of the annual fireworks display on Atlantic City’s Boardwalk. Listen to the sign-on at FormatChange.com.
Update 7/1: Wild 102.7 will launch on Friday, July 2 at 9:55pm with new WWAC calls in place.
Original Report 6/30/2010 7:25pm: The upcoming Fourth of July Weekend appears to be fairly active on the format change front. Our first confirmed flip will be in Atlantic City, where Modern Rock 102.7 WJSE will flip to Rhythmic CHR “Wild 102.7“.
Wild1027.com was registered in Mid-May around the same time that this Twitter feed appeared. This week the domain was transferred to the name servers of owner Atlantic Broadcasting awaiting action.
WJSE recently upgraded from 3300 watts at 295 feet above sea level to 4100 watts at 399 feet, while moving its transmitter from neighboring Cape May County into Atlantic City itself.
Instant Insight: WJSE will be attempting to wedge itself between Equity Communications’ Rhythmic CHR “99.3 Kiss-FM” WZBZ and Adult CHR 95.1 WAYV.
