Omaha Sports Swap

Big Sports 590 ESPN Radio 1620 The Zone KXSP KOZN Omaha Schick Nick Jim Rome Unsportsmanlike Conduct

Journal Broadcasting’s “Big Sports 590” KXSP and NRG Media’s “1620 The Zone” KOZN Omaha will swap network affiliations on February 1.

KXSP will assume the ESPN affiliation and rebrand as “AM 590 – Omaha’s ESPN Radio“. Journal has registered AM590ESPNRadio.com as the station’s new web domain. While there are no local programs currently on the schedule, the station tells Omaha.com that it will look to add a local show in the near future. KXSP features play-by-play of Creighton University Basketball, University of Iowa Football, and Kansas City Royals Baseball.

Across town, “1620 The Zone” will add Premiere Radio Network’s Fox Sports Radio and Jim Rome. Schick & Nick will start one hour earlier, running from 8am to 11am, while afternoon show Unsportsmanlike Conduct remains in the 2pm to 6pm timeslot. KOZN retains Chicago Cubs Baseball play-by-play and Westwood One’s national coverage of the NFL, NCAA, and the Omaha based College World Series.
