Rogers Broadcasting’s purchase of “91.7 The Bounce” CHBN Edmonton and “102.3 Bob-FM” CHST London, ON from CTVglobemedia will bring new names to the stations. The purchase of the two stations was approved by the CRTC in late December.
Edmonton, which has become a haven for CHR lately, will see The Bounce moniker give way to Kiss as Rogers registered 917Kiss.com and Kiss917.com. Rogers already uses the Kiss moniker at its CHR’s in Toronto and Ottawa.
Over in London, Variety Hits “102.3 Bob-FM” will be changing its name to Jack. Rogers, which maintains Canadian rights to the Jack moniker, will add CHST to its similarly branded stations in Calgary, Ottawa, Vancouver, and Victoria. 1023JackFM.com was registered by Rogers with the two Kiss registrations.
