Update 4/5: 106.7 KPWT has flipped to Adult Rock as “X106.7 – World Class Rock For The Rest Of Us”. Cox’s press release quotes, “The New “X106-7 World Class Rock“ makes its debut today in San Antonio, Texas and will feature the best rock music from the past 40 years and today. The new Rock format replaces the previous News/Talk format. Superstar artists such as U2, The Rolling Stones, Coldplay, Eric Clapton, Kings of Leon, Bruce Springsteen, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Police, Pearl Jam, Aerosmith, Bob Seger, REM, Boston, Talking Heads, and Bob Marley will be featured among many others.”
The station’s first hour consisted of:
Talking Heads – Take Me To The River
The Rolling Stones – Waiting On A Friend
Led Zeppelin – Immigrant Song
Pete Townshend – Let My Love Open The Door
Eric Clapton – After Midnight
Train – Hey, Soul Sister
Peter Gabriel – Games Without Frontiers
Jane’s Addiction – Been Caught Stealing
Pink Floyd – Another Brick In The Wall
Santana – Black Magic Woman
John Lennon – Watching The Wheels
Van Halen – Right Now
The Doobie Brothers – Jesus Is Just Alright
Bruce Springsteen – Hungry Heart
Coldplay – Clocks
Update 4/2: Looks like the River may be an early tease, Cox Radio has also registered 1067TheRoad.com, which fits well with the “Lost” tease on the website.
Original Entry 4/1: Just ten months after flipping from Urban to Talk, Cox Radio has begun stunting on “FM Talk 106.7” in preparation of a flip Monday at 5:00 local time. The station’s website currently features a black screen with the word “Lost” in the title bar.
While the NetGnomes have discovered 1067River.com registered by Cox’s registrars, a Facebook Page for “106.7 Mystery” is promoting a contest for what listeners think the new format should be.
