Update 6/3: The four Federated Media stations will flip to Sports branded as “The Fan” on Monday, June 4 at 9:00am.
106.7 WFGA Hicksville will be branded as “The Fan Fort Wayne“.
102.7 WLEG Ligonier will be branded as “The Fan 102.7“.
95.7 WAOR Mishawka and 1290 WNIL Niles will be brandes as “The Fan Michiana” serving the greater South Bend area.
The four stations will carry an identical talk lineup of featuring Fox Sports Radio and local hosts in drivetime. Current WAOR afternoon host Ragz and weekend host Craig “The Bartender” Williams will host mornings, followed by Dan Patrick and Jim Rome. “BS Sports with Brian & Stiller” which currently airs on sister “ESPN 1380” WKJG Fort Wayne will add the four Fan’s as well from 3 to 6pm.
Original Report 5/22: Earlier this month, Federated Media announced plans to flip Hot AC “Froggy 106.7” WFGA Hicksville, OH to a simulcast of sister “ESPN 1380” WKJG Fort Wayne on June 4. That move will be adjusted a bit as Swick Broadcasting’s “ESPN 92.7” W224BY/100.3 WLKI-HD3 Angola has the rights to ESPN in the 106.7 territory.
WFGA will still flip to Sports on June 4 but as “106.7 The Fan” running Fox Sports Radio and simulcasting 1380’s local programming. TheFanFortWayne.com was registered for the station last week. However this does not look to be the only “Fan” about to be launched by Federated Media.
TheFanMichiana.com is partially live at this moment with the pictured logo for “95.7 The Fan” indicating a format change at Classic Rock 95.7 WAOR South Bend. That market does not currently have an All-Sports station, although News/Talk 960/96.1 WSBT runs ESPN Radio from 12-2pm at 7pm to 5am with a local sports show from 5-7pm. WSBT is also the flagship for the local University of Notre Dame.
It may be joined by two additional stations. TheFan1290.com for Christian Talk WNIL Niles, MI and 1027TheFan.com for “Froggy 102.7” WLEG Ligonier were also registered with the previous domains but are not yet live.
