Original Report 12/3: Is a Country battle about to take shape in Memphis?
Domain registrations made by Flinn Broadcasting point in that direction. The company registered MemphisKissinCountry.com, MemphisKISNCountry.com, and MemphisKSSNCountry.com on Friday, November 30. But which station would make the shift?
Flinn owns Sports 560 WHBQ/87.7 WPGF-LP, Spanish 1030 WGSF, Conservative Talk 1210 WMPS, News 1430 WOWW/97.7 W249BN, Urban “Hot 107.1” WHXT, and CHR “Q107.5” WHBQ-FM/96.1 WIVG in the Memphis market. WHBQ-FM sticks out right now as three on-air staffers departed the station in the past week.
“Kissin Country” would join Cumulus’ “Kix 106” WGKX and rimshot from the south “Rebel 95.3” WVIM-FM Coldwater, MS in a Country battle in Memphis.
