It was just a year ago that Northern Lights Broadcasting flipped Rhythmic CHR “96.3 Now” Minneapolis to Modern AC “96.3 K-Twin” KTWN. Now as the station prepares to become the flagship for Minnesota Twins baseball, another shift appears on the horizon.
Today the station announced the hiring of three new on-air personalities who will join the station on January 2. SiriusXM host and Minnesota native Cane Peterson, best known for his run in afternoons on “92.3 K-Rock” New York and as a VJ at VH1 and KARE-TV weekend anchor Rena Sarigianopoulos will join incumbent Eric Perkins in mornings. They replace Tony Fly and Danni Starr who were let go this summer.
Joining for a 12-3pm airshift is Brian “B.T.” Turner. Turner was let go from mornings at Clear Channel AAA “Cities 97” KTCZ in March after 15 years and moved to sales. Turner was also instrumental with the launch of influential Alternative “Rev 105” in the 90’s.
With the addition of two well known Rock personalities and baseball, will the station continue its evolution towards focusing on a predominantly male audience? TwinsRock963.com was registered anonymously on December 2.
KTWN is currently the lowest rated commercial FM in the Minneapolis/St. Paul market, where it registered a 1.5 share in the November PPM monthly.
