Update 5/6:KVMX flipped to Country “92.1 Kix Country” as expected at 12am.
The station has picked up the syndicated Bobby Bones Show for mornings and “CMT Radio Live” with Cody Alan for nights. The remainder of the Max airstaff remains in place as morning co-host Mel takes 10am-12pm, Anne Kelly from 12-3pm, and morning co-host Winston from 3-7pm.
Original Report 5/3: Lotus Classic Hits “92.1 Max-FM” KVMX Bakersfield has begun teasing changes coming to the station on Monday, May 6.
At that time all signs point to the station flipping to Country as “Kix 92.1“. 921Kix.com was registered by a Lotus employee on April 12 and a Facebook page with the new logo is currently live.
KVMX registered a 1.5 share in the Winter 2013 Arbitron ratings. It has struggled ratings-wise since being demoted from the Class B 96.5 signal to the Class A 92.1 stick in August 2011.
The flip to Country will place it in head-on competition with Buck Owens Broadcasting’s market leading 550/107.9 KUZZ. That station registered a 10.5 share in the most recent ratings.
