Update 9/14: Media Ministries launched “Power 92.7” KBYO-FM Farmerville/Monroe with the expected Christian Hip-Hop format.
Positioned as “Positive Hip-Hop And R&B”, the station is launching with a full airstaff including Big Al Cherry in mornings, Kanada DeBurr in middays, Way Media’s syndicated Wally in afternoons, and Larrese Rollins at night.
Original Report 7/15: When Media Ministries closes on its purchase of 92.7 KBYO-FM Farmerville, LA it will launch a new Christian Hip-Hop format.
Power927.fm and Power927FM.com were registered in May for the new station and has been hiring staffers for the format.
KBYO-FM will become the second full-time Christian Hip-Hop station in the country following “Hot 95.9” W240BV/88.3 WPOZ-HD2 Orlando. Prior to going silent and being sold KBYO-FM ran a 90s centric format as “Fun Radio 92.7“.
Media Ministries also owns Christian AC “88.7 The Cross” KBMQ in Monroe.
“Christian hip-hop”?
That’s a stretch . . .
