Update 9/3: Hall Communications made the flip from Classic Rock 92.7 WKZF to Sports “ESPN 92.7” WLPA-FM at midnight. The new format will not be a complete simulcast of 1490 WLPA Lancaster as play-by-play of the Philadelphia Phillies and Penn State University will only be heard on the AM as other stations have their rights in Harrisburg and York.
Update 9/2: In preparation of its flip to Sports, Hall has changed the call letters of 92.7 WKZF to WLPA-FM to match sister 1490 WLPA Lancaster.
Original Report 8/28: Hall Communications is preparing to bring ESPN Radio back to FM in the Harrisburg and York, PA markets.
The company has registered ESPNRadio927.com for what is now Classic Rock “92.7 KZF” WKZF Starview. The markets have been without an ESPN affiliate since Cumulus shifted 1400 WHBG/95.3 W237DE Harrisburg and 1440 WGLD Red Lion/York to CBS Sports Radio in January 2013. Hall already programs ESPN Radio on its 1490 WLPA in the adjacent Lancaster market.
