Brazos Valley Communications has made its flip of “Rock 103.9” KJXJ Franklin/College Station, TX to Sports “ESPN Aggieland” on Monday evening. The station is running with the national ESPN lineup as well as the SEC focused Paul Finebaum show distributed by ESPN as well.
Original Report 2/15: Brazos Valley Communications’ Active Rock “Rock 103.9” KJXJ Franklin/College Station, TX is on the verge of a format change that will soon see ESPN Radio return to the home of Texas A&M University.
The station has been running jockless for the past few weeks leading up to the change and the station’s website has been taken offline. Brazos Valley owner Tommy Vascocu registered Aggieland1039.com, ESPN1039.com, ESPNAggieland1039.com, KTAM1039.com, Maroon1039.com, and TexAgs1039.com on Friday. With most of the domains making reference to the Texas A&M Aggies it’s easy to see why the company would apparently move the KTAM call letters from sister Regional Mexican “Radio Alegria” 1240 KTAM Bryan/102.3 K272FM College Station.
A flip to Sports would place KJXJ in competition with Bryan Broadcasting’s “Zone 1150” KZNE, which is affiliated with CBS Sports Radio.
Does this mean that https://twitter.com/texagsradio is making a move to FM, or is texags1039.com just smoke?
From the look of the headline, I thought ESPN was coming to a college RADIO station…….
College Station is the city where Texas A&M University is located.
