Classic Hits has returned to a full-powered signal in Chattanooga.
With Classic Hits “Big 95.3” debuting on WPLZ Ooltewah, “Cat Country” shifted to 106.9 W295BI Chattanooga/WPLZ-HD2. The frequency swap restores Classic Hits to a full powered signal in Chattanooga for the first time since Cumulus flipped “107.9 Big-FM” WOGT to Nash Icon last October. W295BI had dropped its “Hippie Radio” branding in March.
Sean McNally and Janice Colby’s “Mac & Cheez” morning show will remain on 95.3 WPLZ despite the format swap.
Original Report 3/31: Brewer Media Classic Hits “Hippie Radio 106.9” W295BI Chattanooga/95.3 WPLZ-HD2 Oootewah, TN is undergoing an upheaval.
The station is now identifying as “106.9 – Chattanooga’s Greatest Hits” with its website now redirecting to Big1069.com.
Are there more changes coming? In addition to Big1069.com, Brewer registered Big953.com last week. 95.3 WPLZ is currently home to Country “Cat Country 95.3“. The “Big” identity was used in Chattanooga on Classic Hits “107.9 Big-FM” WOGT until last October when the station flipped to Cumulus’ “Nash Icon” brand.
Hoping that this DOESN’T mean that we are about to lose Hippie Radio here in Nashville!
Different owner.
