Hermain Cain To End Syndication; Remain On Cox Stations

Former Presidential candidate Herman Cain is ending his nationally syndicated talk show after four years. Cain, who is based at Cox News/Talk 750 WSB Atlanta/95.5 WSBB Doraville GA, began his show in January 2013 to replace the retiring Neal Boortz. As of October 5, Cain’s program was carried by 109 stations across the country. WYM Media Management and DGital Media had supplanted Westwood One as distributor of the program at the start of 2016. Station Sales Vanessa Nguyen acquires Brokered Korean 1040 WPBS Conyers/Atlanta GA from Pacificstar Media Corporation for $700,000. Atlanta Radio Korea, which operates WPBS via Time Brokerage Agreement, purchased 790 WQXI Atlanta from Entercom in September. Alexander & Christine Creighton’s Burlington Radio, LLC acquires Standards 1140 KNAB and Country 104.1 KNAB-FM Burlington CO from the Estate of Bette Ann Bailly’s KNAB Inc. for $425,000. The Creighton’s, who own six other stations and a CP under Northeast Colorado Broadcasting, began operating both stations on October 1 via Time Brokerage Agreement. Kara Leigh Joins WSB-FM’s Tad & Melissa Show

Cox Media Group AC “B98.5” WSB-FM Atlanta has announced the addition of Kara Leigh to its “Tad & Melissa” morning show. Leigh has spent the past year as night host on WSB-FM and previously hosted middays on former sister Rhythmic CHR “95.5 The Beat” WBTS from 2007-2010. Two Cumulus Media programmers are swapping stations as Rob Roberts is promoted to Vice President/Hot AC for the company. As part of his promotion Roberts will relocate to Washington DC and add day-to-day PD duties for Hot AC “Mix 107.3” WRQX. Louie Diaz, who has programmed WRQX for the past year, will head to Atlanta as Operations Manager for the market and PD of CHR “Q100” 99.7 WWWQ. AM Changes With their acquisition of Conservative Talk 1270 WYXC Cartersville GA, Michael & Dara Glinter’s Northwest Georgia Broadcasting has applied to move the station to 1260 in the Atlanta suburb of East Point GA. Michael Glinter’s Praise 95, Inc. was the proposed applicant in 2013 to acquire now deleted 1260 WTJH East Point from Willis Broadcasting. WTJH lost its license in July 2014 when an FCC review showed that the station had been off the air for more than one year consecutively following its 2009 silent STA application following its eviction from the tower site making its 2010 license renewal application moot. iHeartMedia has launched its new Urban in Atlanta as Spanish AC “Mia 92.3” W222AF Marietta/96.1 WWPW-HD3 and half of the Alternative simulcast “Radio 105.7” 96.7 WRDG Peachtree City became “The Beat 92.3/96.7” at 9:23 this morning. The station is launching jockless and with the usual 10,000 songs in a row commercial free prior to the debut of The Breakfast Club on December 5. That show had been heard on “Streetz 94.5” W233BF until the start of this month. The station will also carry Big Boy’s Neighborhood from 10pm-2am. WQXI has been simulcasting sister Hot AC “Star 94.1” WSTR since July 2015. John and Robert Landry’s Sugar River Media is acquiring the broadcast assets of Robert and the late Sheila Vinikoor for $1.95 million. iHeartMedia currently has two translators from the AM Revitalization Waiver Period seeking identical facilities on 106.9 in Cleveland OH. On August 1, iHeart applied to move what was originally 94.7 W234BW Parkersburg WV to Cleveland rebroadcasting News/Talk 1100 WTAM with 195w vertical/213m. Over the course of the two waiver periods, iHeart had seven translators that it applied to move to different destinations in each. W293CW was one of those where it was granted a Construction Permit to relocate to Marion OH as 106.5 W293CW rebroadcasting 1490 WMRN. On top of that the translator was given a six month extension of its CP to extend the time it had to be built from expiring on March 15 to September 15.

WSRV Moves English Nick To Middays

English Nick joined WSRV full-time in January of this year as night host. He had previously been working for the station in a fill-in capacity. The station had been jockless in middays.
