MP Media has relaunched its recently acquired 105.1 WVWF Waverly TN and has begun stunting as “Trump 105.1“. The station is running a brief loop of songs with a brief connection to Trump such as Gloria Estefan’s “Bad Boy” and Pink Floyd’s “Another Brick In The Wall”. Sweepers include the predictable “Making Radio Great Again” and “Building A Wall Around Other Stations”. MP Media acquired the former Southern Gospel 105.1 WVRY from Canaan Communications earlier this year for $900,000. Genuine Austin Radio is converting its LMA of Sports “104.9 The Horn” KTXX-FM Bee Cave/Austin and 1260 KLGO Elgin TX from Total Austin Sports Radio LLC into a purchase for $3.2 million. Genuine Austin Radio, which operates as Austin Radio Network began operating the stations at the start of 2014. The company also owns Classic Country 99.3 KOKE-FM Thorndale/1490 KTAE Austin. Tony Richards’ Kensington Digital Media is acquiring Classic Country 1010 WHIN/100.7 W264CR Gallatin TN from WHIN Inc. for $325,000. Middle Tennessee State University’s Public Jazz/Classical 89.5 WMOT Murfreesboro/Nashville TN will flip to Americana “Roots Radio” on Friday, September 2. The new format is in partnership with the syndicated Music City Roots which will air on the station. Jessie Scott, most recently in MD/Middays at “Sun Radio” in KDRP Dripping Springs/Austin TX will serve as Program Director. Scott has also worked at WNBC and WHN New York, WMMO Orlando, and The station will also continue to carry Middle Tennessee State University Sports coverage.
