Following his announced exit from CBS CHR “103.3 Amp Radio” WODS Boston to join his about-to-be wife in Nashville, Joe Breezy has found a new job in the market as well. With Midwest Communications closing on its purchase of CHR ‘i106.7″ WNFN Millersville/Nashville from Cumulus’ Joule Broadcasting divestment trust, the company has announced it has hired Breezy as its new Assistant Brand Manager/Afternoon host starting Monday, July 11. Prior to making the move to Nashville, Breezy will be marrying current WCVB-TV Boston meteorologist Danielle Vollmar. She was recently named Chief Meteorologist at WKRN-TV Nashville. Midwest Acquires I106.7 Nashville

Midwest Communications is expanding its holdings in Nashville with the purchase of CHR “I106.7” WNFN Millersville TN from the Joule Broadcasting Trust for $3.75 million. WNFN will become Midwest’s third station in the market joining AC “Mix 92.9” WJXA and Variety Hits “96.3 Jack-FM” WCJK. WNFN has been in the divestment trust since the 2011 merger with Citadel Broadcasting gave it seven FM’s in the Nashville market. As one of two CHR’s in the Nashville market, WNFN registered a 2.8 share in the Holiday 2015 Nielsen Audio PPM ratings. That placed it well behind iHeartMedia’s “107.5 The River” WRVW’s 7.3 share. AM Changes The long-dormant 1500 allocation in Los Angeles sees action as the Howard Levine/William Schwab partnership that won the bidding in the 2014 FCC Auction for the frequency modifies their application to operate with 120 watts daytime utilizing two towers and 150 watts night with four towers. 1500 would operate from the already in use towers of 1330 KWKW Los Angeles that will soon also become home to 790 KABC. The 1500 allocation in Los Angeles has been dormant since 1500 KRCK Burbank went Silent in 1985.

Station Sales Week Of 1/15: iHeart Is A Rare Buyer

Station Sales iHeartMedia has not been an outright buyer of a station in quite some time. That changed this weeks as the company purchased Hot AC “92.9 The Boss” KOLT-FM Warren AFB/Cheyenne WY from Valley Bank And Trust for $500,000. The bank has owned KOLT-FM since former owner Joli Lofstedt’s Tracy Broadcasting Company defaulted on a loan in 2014. KOLT-FM will become iHeart’s third FM in the Cheyenne market joining “Big Country 97.9” KXBG Cheyenne and Country “100.7 KOLT-FM” KOLZ. The Moody Bible Institute is purchasing Classic Country 1200 WAMB Nashville TN and its two translators from Great Southern Broadcasting Company for $414,000. Bobby Bones Show Triggers EAS Panic

On Friday subscribers of AT&T’s Uverse Cable service in many markets found their systems in “Emergency Alert” mode due to an erroneous triggering of EAS. Affected viewers had their televisions locked on a local network affiliate with a banner stating “This is an Emergency Action Notification. Your channel has been force tuned to receive the Emergency Alert Message”. The only thing supposed to trigger such an alert is a national emergency. And it was triggered once before during a national EAS test on November 9, 2011. Which bring us back to Friday and the Bobby Bones Show.
