Stylz & Roman Move To US99 Chicago

CBS Country “US 99” 99.5 WUSN Chicago has named ‘Dougie Stylz’ Bobrowski and Justin Roman as their new morning show. The pair move over from sister CHR “B96” WBBM-FM where they were most recently hosting afternoons. They will replace Lisa Dent and Ramblin’ Ray Stevens. The latter jumped to Cumulus News/Talk 890 WLS last week leading to Dent’s exit. The station itself is giving itself a fresh coat of paint as it returned to its former “US99” branding dropping the .5 and launching a new “Chicago’s Hottest Country” position statement and logo. CBS RADIO Chicago and WUSN today announced that Chicago duo Stylz & Roman will make the jump to morning drive as the voices Chicagoland Country fans wake up to Monday – Fr...[Read More]

Announcing RadioInsight Premium

Over our nearly two decades of operating radio industry websites there have been many changes to radio and the web. One thing that hasn’t changed are the struggles of independent web content producers to produce revenue needed to keep sites operating. Sites come and go on a nearly daily basis. As we have content such as our DomainInsight and FCC Application reports that are exclusive to RadioInsight, we believe there is value to subscribers to pay for some of these features. We have plans to expand on those features to add additional content for subscribers in the next few weeks. Most of our content will always remain free, and we plan on adding a lot more of it as we continue to grow. We’re already the #2 radio industry website in terms of overall traffic and have no plans on ...[Read More]

Growing Pains

Over the past few weeks we’ve had some difficulties with our web-hosting provider that has led to prolonged site outages. Our nearly sixteen hour outage on Friday for issues on their end that they have yet to be able to explain the cause of was the final straw. As RadioInsight and our family of sites have continued to grow we are very grateful for the loyalty of our readers. Any outage of less than one minute is as totally unacceptable as what happened on Friday. We thank you so much for your patience over the past few weeks as we hopefully put these issues into the rear view. The web hosting world is full of peaks and valleys. There are tons of quality hosts available on the low end for those that need something basic and there are many great providers at the high end. Unfortunately...[Read More]

Introducing The RadioInsight Community

A long, long time ago in a radio industry that now seems so far away, a naive teenager launched a message board dedicated to radio in the Mid-Atlantic region. That board would later become the cornerstone in the launch of Radio-Info.com and I would then go on to launch RadioInsight.com in 2006. While the radio industry has undergone major upheaval, social discussion of the industry has gone mainly unchanged. Sites are still using software designed over a decade ago and the template of boards dedicated to regions that I helped standardize no longer is the best way to discuss an ever-evolving medium. For a few years now, that once naive teenager has envisioned a new style of Community that connects the boards with a social network that includes the best features found elsewhere on the social...[Read More]

Introducing The New RadioInsight.com

Welcome to the first phase of the new RadioInsight.com. We haven’t unwrapped all the features we will be adding in the coming weeks, including updated discussion features. Amongst the new features launching today are the integration of our Broadcast Buzz and Blogger Buzz into the main site. Within our news feed you will see links to some of the top news and commentary from around the internet. Additionally, we have complimented our Twitter feed with a Facebook fan page, which we hope to become a destination for radio discussion much in the vein of the message board revolution we began in 1997. Our existing boards aren’t going anywhere and will soon be revamped to better enhance our new focus. In the coming weeks we will be adding many new features, including some locally focuse...[Read More]
