Beasley Media CEO Caroline Beasley debuted the first episode of “Beyond The Business” today with the first part of an interview with Dr. Shawn DuBravac about his book “Digital Destiny: How the New Age of Data Will Transform the Way We Work, Live, and Communicate”.

iHeartMedia Acquires Stuff Media For $55 Million

iHeartMedia has announced the acquisition of podcast publisher Stuff Media for $55 million. Stuff Media is the parent company of the HowStuffWorks podcast business mostly focusing on history and science shows including Stuff You Should Know, Stuff You Missed in History Class, TechStuff and BrainStuff. The company recently debuted the top ranked true crime podcast produced in partnership with Tenderfoot TV: Atlanta Monster. As part of the deal, Stuff Media CEO Conal Byrne will join iHeartMedia as head of its podcast division with Stuff Media becoming an Atlanta based studio under the iHeart umbrella. Scripps Rebrands Podcast Operations Under Stitcher Brand

EW Scripps is restructuring its podcast operations to make Stitcher its primary brand. Stitcher will serve as the parent brand to podcast advertising service Midroll Media, comedy podcast network Earwolf, and additional networks in the process of being launched. Scripps purchased Midroll Media, which in turn had been founded in 2010 as Earwolf, in 2015. They they added the Stitcher app platform in 2016 for $4.5 million and rebuilt it adding a subscription tier. Cumulus Media’s Westwood One has announced the launch of a new podcasting vertical. The Empow(h)er Podcast Network will debut with nine shows targeting female audiences.
