What do you think will in the coming year?

The Browns radio flagship rights are going to be interesting. Different top-down management for the Browns, different ownership for WKRK/WNCX that values sports PBP an awful lot (and is aggressively building up their digital base at a remarkable clip), a resurgent team on the field that has yielded multiple new affiliates mid-season, and a AM co-flagship that has not only shed a lot of talent over the past two years, but is now totally overshadowed by their parent company’s new marquee station in Milwaukee (#1-ranked WTMJ).

Honestly, I won’t be surprised to see 92.3/98.5 become the sole flagships, a Browns-centric channel is established** on Entercom’s Radio.com (with Browns Daily as the centerpiece) and WKNR is left hanging. Unless the pure novelty of an AM flagship somehow makes it still necessary by the team, the likelihood that the Browns get more primetime and 4:00pm games will pose a liability for WKNR and their vastly inferior night signal.

**Such a channel already exists on WKRK-HD3, but AFAIK it’s not streaming online.

Recorded in Ultra Stereo, the ultimately superior cousin to Normal Stereo!

I predict a format change for one of Cleveland’s major FM stations.

There may also be possible TV and Radio Personality departures or retirements as well.
