By this hour (4:30 P.M. EST, December 26th), most of the radio stations around the country that went all-Christmas over the past few weeks have gone back to their regular formats. Most of those who haven’t gone back to their regular programming are using Christmas music as a “stunt” and will change formats very soon.
But at this hour, WWLI-105.1 is still programming their all-Christmas sound.
“Lite 105” is, as far as I know, the most popular radio station in the Providence area, so going all-Christmas past Christmas Day probably isn’t a sign of a format change.
I wonder how long it will be until WWLI returns to it’s regular format.
Finally, at 12:01 A.M. EST yesterday (December 29th), WWLI put the Christmas music away. They may have been the last medium-or-large-market all-Christmas station <strong class=”d4pbbc-bold”>not about to change formats to play continuous Christmas music.
