    I remember WSMN’s old West Hollis Street studio from my Fitchburg-area boyhood — a beautiful big white house with the station’s call letters attached over the front door.  I don’t recall where the towers were.  I gather the station broadcast toward the north and east — it had a very tight null and couldn’t be heard over the Massachusetts border, which was only about 10 miles to the south.

    IIRC they were ‘way behind the house, on the far side of the hill. practically standing on the highway.  The 1590 Broadcaster weekly newspaper was printed (loudly!) in the basement.

    I did mornings there from 1991-94. Oh, the stories I could tell. 🙂
