    Does anyone remember the approximate dates that newly-named WKDA-FM was actually freeform? Just at night, right?

    When they went 24-hours in 1970, were they still freeform, maybe midnight-6? During the day they were a hybrid of pop*, rock, outlaw country, select album cuts, and IIRC, comedy & oldies. *They played Simon & Garfunkle, Helen REddy & the Bee Gees.

    For a time, the AM was billed as “progressive country”.

    (I try to get 1 of these started at least per year. Btw, 4 of the last 5 topics were started by me. Can’t be a good sign for this board.)


    I’m not positive, but as I recall 67-76…
