It’s taken place at all of the Scripps-owned stations.  I don’t care for the new format.  Preferred the local version.  How will the changes affect the anchor lineup at 5?
With The Now being mainly national, this leaves Fox 8 as the only station with an all-local hourlong newscast at 4pm.  Cleveland 19’s is now a half-hour on-air with the other half online only.

    Shakeup at WKYC Morning.

WKYC Morning Anchor Lynna Lai is being moved off the weekdays and headed to the weekend.

What a shame. I really enjoyed her. Wonder who will take her place. They will probably bring someone in. I’m sure it’s a race issue.

The thing is, they raved about her back when they moved her from the weekends to the weekdays? Strange.

I’m missing something.  What might be the race issue?

John…..Don’t you remember what Belushi said in “Animal House” about when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?

I’ve always liked Lynna Lai.  I’m glad she will now be on at a time when I can see her (I don’t normally watch the morning news).  I saw her at an event a few years ago – she is quite stunning.  It would be nice to see a few more Asian-Americans on the local newscasts – they seem to be under-represented in NE Ohio currently.

    The race issue!

The only local station without a black anchor on the morning. I am not a racist only stating a fact.

Seems like every newscast now has to follow the same formula for their anchors: one male, one female; one white, one black.

I will miss seeing Lynna on the morning show on the regular basis.  She and John Anderson had great chemistry together.  Is she moving to weekend AM or PM?  WKYC already has Dorsena Drakeford and Andrew Horansky on Saturday nights, and Chris Tye on Sunday nights.  Maureen Kyle anchors weekend AM.

Now who will take over weekday mornings?  In-house, another market, another station, or someone who has not anchored on TV locally for a while?

Does anyone think if The Now drags down Channel 5’s ratings, could Channel 19 overtake them for third?

I wonder if the ratings have gotten bad.  WKYC has historically been second in the AM (except for that time around 2012-13 that WEWS over took WKYC for second place) against WJW forever.  This might be another attempt to try and overtake Fox 8.

Speaking of WEWS, they have “Steve” going up against another Steve Harvey show “Family Feud” at the same time (3pm) on WOIO.  Aren’t both shows not supposed to compete against each other?

No, I don’t.  Probably based around a joke about someone who doesn’t realize it was the Japanese who bombed Pearl Harbor?
