Chris Tye was pushed out! Too expensive to keep. https://www.ftvlive.com/sqsp-test/2019/4/29/pushed-out-in-the-land

Old news. They bid him farewell a few weeks ago.
Yes, he was a little behind posting about him leaving. But now we know Chris was forced out. Wonder how much longer they will keep expensive Russ? Heck even Jimmy!

Good question.  Betsy is already doing news and weather.  Maybe she can do sports too.

Highly successful TV & radio stations with booming advertising revenues do not cut productive, experienced on-air content creators.

The folks who create & present the content that drives strong audiences is the same as a great steak in a highly-profitable restaurant. You cut quality because you’re forced to.

Cut backs reflect a fading, failing industry that’s just trying to hang on as long as it can. This is a sad reality of life during the digital/web explosion. Pweh, how things have changed!

I saw on social media earlier this week that Bill Younkin (formerly of WEWS and WOIO/WUAB) had passed away this month.

Jay Crawford, formerly of ESPN, is joining WKYC as anchor of the station’s new 5 p.m. newscast that slated to launch next year.

This is a huge get for Channel 3.  No word on who will co-anchor with him yet.

Nice! I hope she’s popular enough to avoid WKYC’s 2:07am “death slot!”
