If Beth McLeod supposedly left for Detroit. Why is she still at 19 covering canned good donations in Fairlawn?
She still lives in Cleveland, and commutes to Detroit to do the weather (part time) on WXYZ ABC 7.
Looks to me like her doing the canned food drive was a freelance deal, and not indicative of her coming back full time.
Carl Monday is saying goodbye to Cleveland 19 this month instead of March. https://www.facebook.com/147490828644118/posts/2023102311082951/Quote That explains why Sara Goldenberg is now working as an investigative reporter. What about Paul Orlousky? Is he still on at 19 and 43?
Staff sizes of on AND off-air employees at many local TV & radio stations getting smaller and smaller.
Just about any talent on or off air who have much experience are being offered buy outs or simply being let go in order to cut payroll. Those who do get hired are very young and lack much experience & are hired because they will work for far, far less.
Folks…this is the new media reality. Stinks for viewers & listeners as product quality declines. But, understand from the station’s perspective: they are just trying to survive another month. It’s a very different world out there, folks. Media and advertising industry being rocked by consumer media habit changes. Just the way it is.
I am by no means a big TV viewer. In fact, I rarely watch local news on ANY channel. Most of the folks you guys here talk about I’ve never seen or heard of.
BUT…for DECADES WJW8 has been the #1 Cleveland TV station and top advertising biller.
Hard to believe Spectrum would risk angering their subscribers by not making sure WJW is on their system.
WJW Fox 8 is off Spectrum (as is WGN America) after Tribune and Charter fail to come to an agreement.
Seen this movie before…they always take it right up to the edge and occasionally even pull the channel for a day or 2 before all is resolved. They’ll be back no later than the weekend.
