Wheeling/Steubenville is far away enough from WLFM and a FrankenFM in Columbus that they shouldn’t be directly interfered with.

WRME-LP/6 is chugging along in Chicago and if there are any interference issues with WITI in Milwaukee (both RF and PSIP of 6) it’s far away enough for it to be a non-factor. (And WRME, as “87.7 MeTVfm,” is a FrankenFM that’s actually been ridiculously successful.)

Recorded in Ultra Stereo, the ultimately superior cousin to Normal Stereo!

    There’s a FrankenFM in Columbus?  I didn’t know that.

Plus, WLFM and all of the FrankenFMs are not long in the world anyway.  They’re all slated to go off in 2021, unless the TV portions go digital.

WITI is not on RF 6.  It’s on RF 33.  But anyways, at this point, all pretend FMs as I like to call them are going to go away soon.  The FCC issued a notice of violation on December 4th.  They’re all transmitting too much aural power and violating rules for LPTV service in order to be a fake radio station.  In addition to that, LPTVs will be required to go away anyways.  Their time is limited.
Additionally, I was told by a worker of the FCC that WLFM-LP and WOUC cannot coexist.  The interference limits would be exceeded.  Bye bye WLFM-LP.  WOUC is moving on Monday February 25th.  I currently receive both WLFM-LP and WOUC here in Akron 24/7.

Hasn’t WLFM filed for a digital application to move?  Isn’t the owner also trying to sell the station as well?

WLFM appears to be off the air, on TV and radio.  Color bars are shown on Channel 6 as of right now instead.  What could be the issue?

Ironically, this happens to be the fifth anniversary of the station’s La Mega format.

WLFM-LP always shows color bars.  I think the last time there were actual slides was several years ago.  They’re required to transmit video since they’re actually a TV station, despite pretending to be a radio station.  I’m not sure if they’ll actually end up transmitting DTV, but they do have an application for channel 20.
Speaking of 87.7, WLFM-LP actually transmits on 87.74.  So my more selective radios don’t tune the audio properly, and the car radio in my Ford Escape won’t even tune lower than 87.9.

I didn’t know WLFM transmits on 87.74.  I thought it was higher.

I forgot to mention the color that were shown were on 6 on a digital signal.  I don’t know what was going on the analog 6 at that exact moment, but all I know was that there was nothing on 87.7 before it came back on the radio side.

I just checked my software-defined radio, and I’m seeing that the audio frequency IS actually 87.75 MHz.  I’m not sure what you meant by saying that you had a digital signal.

There was a digital signal on Channel 6 with color bars.  I don’t know if it was WLFM, or a station from another part of the US, or even Canada, but at the same time, there was no audio on 87.7.  That’s all I know, and it was a friend that told me.  I’m just relaying what I heard.
