But today, as of 4 P.M. Eastern Standard Time (3 Chicago time), WLIT’s stream is still of their regular Adult Contemporary format.
Traditionally, WLIT does go all-Christmas, although the Radio Ink article claims the station is “extending” the all-Christmas programming (and I don’t recall WLIT going all-Christmas this soon).
All well and good, I guess……except that as of this writing, they haven’t flipped yet.
But it may happen later today, perhaps as afternoon drive progresses (and the station’s website ha had a “Christmas look” for several days).
Update (4:20 P.M. Eastern time, November 6th): according to this article in the Belleville (Illinois) News-Democrat (http://www.bnd.com/news/local/article183068326.html ), WLIT will flip to all-Christmas tomorrow (November 7th) at 4:35 P.M. Central time. And the article says that while WLIT had flipped earlier than that in a couple of prior years, this will be the earliest they will have done so in a decade.
Of course, if sopmeone else in the Windy City “jumps the gun”, WLIT will have to respond quickly.
