This week, Learfield (which just recently completed its merger with IMG) dropped the regional SportsTalk show with Phil Kornblut, and closed down the South Carolina Radio Network (which, in addition to handling that show, served as the state’s news network for commercial stations)–both with immediate effect. For now, Mr. Kornblut is still being carried, as a local show, on Columbia affiliate WQXL (The Point).
Effective today, SportsTalk Radio Network and SportsTalkSC are no more. Learfield closed South Carolina Radio Network effective immediately. I can be followed @philkornblut. Thanks and we'll be talking soon.

As somewhat of an update, it looks like the SCRN name is being revived for (at the very least) a replacement show from iHeart that features Will Palaszczuk (the co-host of the cancelled SportsTalk) and Lawton Swann (the host of Clemson Sports Talk, which will also continue as a separate show)…
