    Not really surprising because in some markets like San Francisco and Washington DC the top 5 stations happen to include an NPR News/Talk affiliate.

    This report will probably become ammunition in NPR’s efforts to preserve Federal fun ding for the Corporation For Public Broadcasting (CPB).

    And here in Boston, WBUR-90.9 (which was perhaps the first NPR member station to run a 24/7 public radio news/information format, back in the early 1990’s) has often ranked in the top ten radio stations in terms of overall listeners.
