Some of the songs added to the playlist in recent days:
Outkast – The Way you move
Pink – Don’t let me get me
Brittany Spears – Toxic
The Script – Breakeven
The Weeknd – Earned it
Marshmello – Happier
Goo Goo Dolls – Slide
5 Seconds of Summer – Youngblood.
All of these are 3 or less spins.
Neither older nor softer. Rest of the playlist appears to be right on track with where it was pre-Christmas.
Isn’t WDOK Cleveland’s #2 station in the Fall ’18 book? (PPM, 6+, MSA). If anybody should flip formats in their Cleveland cluster why not WQAL? Or, maybe they’re OK the way their cluster is performing.
There is a recent boom of “The Breeze” soft AC format flips in varied markets, both on Entercom and iHeart’s part. TBH, if WDOK flipped back to Soft AC as “102.1 The Breeze” after the Christmas season, it would be a solid move. (Although WNWV really should just go in the Soft AC direction with the “Wave” moniker and own the format outright.)
Nathan, I think you just hit the nail on the head. I was thinking the same thing, but I figured I’d go back and see if someone else already mentioned it. The format played on the Breeze has disappeared from the Cleveland market, and it would serve possibly a large number of listeners including myself. WDOK is not near what it used to be. It would be a good idea for 107.3 to flip to this format. Is smooth jazz even that popular anyways?
