Yesterday, in the “Chat Box” on SmoothJazzChicago.net, there was some teasing going on about a big announcement coming. Rick O’Dell’s SmoothJazzChicago.net internet station is now carried on WTMX-HD2. It’s almost full circle for O’Dell, where Smooth Jazz started at 101.9.
This move pushes the 80’s HD2 channel to 100.3, which makes much more sense than “The Voice Of Russia”.
By far, Smooth Jazz Chicago is the “smoothest” (and by that I mean professional) internet radio station I have heard yet, with Rick live from 9 – 3 and Bill and Scott on weekends. Also, they definitely have the best website for an internet station – heck it’s even better than some “real” radio station websites!

Hubbard easily could have moved ‘The Voice Of Russia’ to an HD3 signal of any of their stations. I suppose they don’t want Russia’s money anymore to lease an HD sub-channel.
I really don’t understand what the big deal is about Rick O’Dell. His station is not the first to air Smooth Jazz in Chicago on an HD sub-channel, and he was not the first to stream Smooth Jazz from Chicago on the internet.
