Thoughts on the new lineup?July 12, 2018 at 8:24 am #183091
THOUGHTS: They’re really banging the gavel, aren’t they? Only one airing of “The Ninety and Nine Club”. Is that because they have their diginet to run it other times?
QUESTIONS: What is “Harry”, and what is “Top 30”?July 12, 2018 at 10:45 am #183093
Harry is Harry Connick, Jr.’s talk show, which is ending after two seasons. Top 30 is a news show featuring trending and current stories.

It all comes full circle:
January 1995 – UPN and WB debut, and since each only airs a couple of nights a week, WUAB fits them both in easily.
1995-1997 – both mini-nets expand, and it’s apparent UPN is getting first priority on WUAB, and WB is crammed in on weekends
1997 – WB moves to WBNX
1997-2006 – UPN and WB do what they do on WUAB and WBNX respectively
2006 – UPN and WB merge to form the CW, and in a bit of an upset, WBNX wins the affiliation (WUAB was lukewarm at best, and TV 55 went all in and it paid off)
2006 – WUAB gets My Network TV as basically a consolation prize
2015 – My Net gets banished to the late night hours on channel 43 as they debut their 9 p.m. newscast
2018 – CW moves to WUAB (with MY Net late nights) and WBNX becomes a full-on old school independent, basically resetting things to what they were at the beginning of the timelineJuly 12, 2018 at 6:57 pm #183103
According to listings on Zap2It, WUAB is eliminating its 7am newscast on its main signal on Monday. No word if it will continue online or on 43.2 (Bounce TV).July 12, 2018 at 6:58 pm #183104

If it ain’t on the main channel, I highly doubt it will be on the subchannel.
The 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. daily newscasts are finito after tomorrow.
Only news on WUAB going forward will be (again, going back to it’s roots) the hour-long 10 O’Clock News.July 13, 2018 at 8:17 am #183107
Any idea what the weekends will look like on WBNX?
Could WBNX get “My Net”? How much programming do they have?
For the most part, it’s interesting to talk about all this, but far less interesting to actually watch.July 13, 2018 at 10:21 am #183108

For the most part, it’s interesting to talk about all this, but far less interesting to actually watch. The CW programming on Saturday mornings will be replaced by two hours of Jack Hanna and an hour of the drama Heartland. Not sure if they can afford MyNet affiliation if they couldn’t afford the CW. That would only be possible through new ownership.July 13, 2018 at 11:47 am #183109
