1500 WGHT Pompton Lakes, NJ has returned to the air after almost a year.  It was simulcasting 1340 WALL Middletown, NY earlier today (12/7).  I posted a clip of WGHT on YouTube.

That didn’t last long. But it’s now official! After three months of simucasting WALL, WGHT returns to the airwaves by early April where they are going to simulcast another local radio station, WTBQ. To read the full article, the link is down below.

    Let’s see…

Daytimer, high on dial low power AM station.

Sounds like a failure in the making. It should just go dark.

This CP for their FM translator (W252ED 98.3) is the only reason why an attempt is being made. No one is going to bother to listen to WGHT on 1500, all of their audience will be on the FM dial.

The new operators know that 98.3 is the relevant part of the equation.

Recorded in Ultra Stereo, the ultimately superior cousin to Normal Stereo!

Nobody will be listening to the 98.3 translator either.

I have no idea how the economy functions in Pompton Lakes. Maybe they think it can be salable as a super-serving micro FM targeting all/any local businesses, which would make it a success despite the audience.

WGHT is now simulcasting WTBQ 1110 AM Warwick, New York except during its weather forecast and station ID.  Here is a video that I recorded from around 5:00pm EDT today (4/10/2019).
